Dear Friends,

We are a Greek Cultural Events Management Organisation forming cultural projects -with great success since 1997- for artistic companies under the call of European Commission program CULTURE 2007-2013 and we are sending you  hereunder the briefs of 4 projects   in case  you may be interested  to participate.  All projects they will have chronological period as from May 2010 up to September 2011 included. As the deadline for the programs is end September 2009 please reply as soon as possible.  Send us your proposals and feel free to make any suggestions that will improve our project. Also if you are not interest to participate kindly pass this e-mail to someone you know that maybe interested.

EVERLASTING BEAUTY THROUGH GREEK TRAGEDY   Choruses are the structural fundamental element of tragedy and comedy.

  Transport into drama the lyric, meaning the supreme sentimental emotion of the word, via the orchestra ( melos ). When passions of the heroes reach their limits to cry out, to the unbearable pain, for the suffering to come, enthusiasm, the dance, the popular accumulated experience, the full of wisdom knowledge interferes in order to comfort, to calm,  to act as a filter of transformation  of  terror, of grief, of despair to rhythm and melody, that is to say to include the passions into the laws of music.

  The tragic poets, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides and still Aristophanes draw their lyrics from the common used myth, from the internal and firm through the history experiences of human being : love, orphanage, loneliness, youth, aging, expatriation, betrayal, vanity and hope, celebration, feast, pleasure and beauty. The chosen extracts for this composition from the three lyrical poets and Aristophanes, are a broad anthology of lyrical motifs which still nowadays breed the lyric poetry.  The difference among them is that these great poets created by an almost unique way the kernel of the lyric experience. It is extreme and untold joy  to justify that  words, tones and voices, running with the speed of the sound to meet the echo as a first  speech  of the human being, it is an everlasting beauty.

As  In the beginning was the speech , then orchestra formed, so the power and influence of early speech, and the orchestra through the choruses of ancient Greek drama, were the axis and the opportunity to study and start giving life through musical performances by the only Greek music drama group  Speira-Speira  which under the guidance of the famous composer Stamatis Kraounakis.

A musical performance - a proposal, if it is the first time a musical project based entirely on the grounds of poetic tragedy and comedy, with a modern sound from younger and established composers, with possible interpretations of young actors and singers, giving a new, current and imaginative way the continuity of ancient texts. Creators who shared this game with the eternal music  choruses  creating and discovering that song was and is, everything. Always through the eternal existence of human experiences. Love, loneliness, the orphanage, the betrayal, the futility, but also hope and joy, the celebration and beauty ... More than 20 compositions with lyrical dance parties of the three tragic our Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides and Aristophanes. Words of dance, comedy, tragedy and words of poets:  Fowl ,  Oedipus Kolonos on ,  Agamemnon ,  Bacchae ,  Clouds ,  Hecuba ,  Iphigenia in Aulis ,  Iketides ,  Troades ,  Choifores ,  Trachinies ,   Helen  ,  Iphigenia in Tauris  ,  Evmenides  ,  Cyclops  ,  Thesmoforiazouses.

We would like in this study of the ancient tragedy to find co-organizers from all countries of Europe that includes the program CULTURE 2007-2013 and have already some experience in Ancient Tragedy or would like to try this unique experience. We covered the field of music and we are open to all forms of cooperation with theatrical and dance companies, universities, multimedia experts and visual presentations.

2. GREEK PROJECT: PLAYING AND LEARNING
тhe Greek Cultural Management company WORLD-CEF working on a project for SELINA company under the title of PLAYING AND LEARNING aims to develop awareness of cultural diversity and artistic appreciation through active participation and experiential learning processes for the European citizens of tomorrow (children 4 -9 years old).  Using music and other art forms (drama, movement and dance, creative arts, video and multimedia) as the prime vehicles, children and artists from several European countries will be engaged as active participants in collaborative projects which aim in the development of tools which promote fundamental learning processes such as literacy and numeracy while at the same time exposing the richness and diversity of the European cultural heritage.  Drawing upon local cultural strands of the participant countries, a number of learning tools will be developed enabling children to continue their learning experience both at home and at school.

These tools will include: a) a series of music CDs with songs on the different alphabets (eg Greek, Cyrillic, Latin) incorporating different music styles from the participant countries; b) a series of music CDs with narrative songs on the  times table  in the languages of the participant countries; c) development of interactive theatre sketches using local stories or fairytales adapted to develop numeracy and literacy skills enriched by local music styles and instruments; d) development of a board game that engages children in a fun-learning process; e) development of a multimedia authoring tool which enables the creation of literacy and numeracy exercises (such a multiple choice, fill the gaps, true or false etc) by using a library of audiovisual material created by children and experienced artists and educators during a series of workshops. >

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:The key objectives of this project are to use culture as a catalyst for the creation of educational tools which engender cultural awareness and appreciation in young children through the process of participative and experiential learning of fundamental educational skills such as numeracy and literacy.

OUTCOMES:The project fulfils the three main objectives of the EU Culture programme because: >

a) it promotes cross-border mobility as it will engage artists, educators and children from at least three European countries;

b) in encourages transnational circulation of cultural and artistic output as it produces a series of educational/cultural tools which can have distribution beyond the three participant countries; 

c) it fosters intercultural dialogue by utilising the most fundamental and common educational skills as the basis for exchange, exposure and wider dissemination of both the diverse and the similar cultural elements of the European shared heritage.

We looking in this project which we will do with the support of CULTURE 2007-2013 European program to find co-organisers and partners from all over Europe to participate with us in any field may think that can work on or may offer previous experience. We welcome companies with multimedia experience, puppet theatres, dancing companies working with children, children s theatre etc., and looking forward to receive their ideas to form together this projects. > > > >

3. RIVALRY IN  CULTURE:  FROM  ALL FORMS OF ART AND SPORTS

GREEK PROJECT: PROMOTING  CULTURE WITH NOBLE RIVALRY

With the occasion of 2013 Mediterranean Games  in Greece (Volos and Larissa) the Municipal Theatre of Larissa organises (Summer 2010) seminars, performances, speeches and symposium on the subject:  RIVALRY In this program that will be realised through the program of European Union s  CULTURE 2007-2013 with the participation of Mediterranean countries from Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, France, Italy, Malta and Turkey.

We are interest in production of dancing and theatrical performances, fine art / multimedia / costumes exhibitions, speeches. hapennings and seminars with issues the  RIVALRY  in all  forms.  We looking for colleagues from the above countries to collaborate with us for the success of this promising program.

4. THE MYTH OF THE ABDUCTION OF EUROPE

A myth of destiny, existence and love
Greek Cultural Company WORLD-CEF would like to go deep into the foundation of the European Continent through historic myths and other forms of Art . The aim of the program is the sensitization of the public through mythological elements in the common past of populations that compose states with different cultures, focusing on the things that bring us together, like common cultural heritage, rather on those that set us apart, like economic profits and nationalistic interests.

The myth of the ABDUCTION OF EUROPE is an erotic, mythological element in the history of Europe from one side and from the other was the reason of wars and immigration. The world of mythology for all of us remains a world intellectually precious and sentimentally beloved, as it combines in a unique way the game of the inexhaustible and unlimited imagination with deep individual and cosmogony conscience. >

The myth of Europe, teaches that all begin from a dream that all we make in our like is in order to achieve this dream, by writing our destiny and following the travel that is difficult, full of pictures and experiences. Travel that leads to the knowledge of life, love, and pain, to the comprehension of destiny and to the love of life and existence, making our soul complete the life circle. If today we can brought up these meanings through a myth then we will have to thank the  girl Europe  and try to make the continent that took her name from, her citizens and our life better and better every day. >

In this program we could like to write a play and produce performances on  Europe   The myth of our destiny to do seminars and workshops with thematology: from myths to grand narratives, the performing body, myths in theatre to organize an exhibition from 2nd ph century to up today regarding the abduction of Europe to have a symposium in Athens with European artists Multimedia and internet presentation.

We would like in this study of the myth of Europe to find co-organizers from all countries of Europe that includes the program CULTURE 2007-2013 and came across similar topics or would like to try with us a great experience.  We are open to all forms of cooperation with theatrical and dance companies, universities, multimedia experts and visual presentations. >
