Entrepreneurs are dissatisfied with Mikhail Miasnikovich’s statements

“Play on words gives us no guaranties”.

Prime-Minister has voiced basically the same that is written in the “resolution of four”, that is why we are dissatisfied with confirmations that there will be no inspections. Thus, until official documents are published, tension will remain, as the government can use the absence of such documents as a means for pressure”, - stated Viachaslau Pilipuk, the activist of the business association “Prospective” to the EuroBelarus Information Service.

According to Pilipuk, all the expectations of the individual entrepreneurs will be resolved today, on June 9, at the enlarged session on the issue of technical regulations for the Customs Union into the Ministry of Trade where the activists of the “Perspective” are present, too. “The authorities have to understand that the tension will remain without the official document that describes and guarantees the work rules for the entrepreneurs”, - said the representative of the “Perspective”.

Let us recall that at the meeting with Mikhail Miasnikovich, Belarusan Prime-Minister, the participants agreed that no measures of administrative punishment should be applied against entrepreneurs for violating the Customs Union certification regulations.

The meeting decided that sole entrepreneurs who pay a single tax could take use of simplified procedures to confirm the certificate of origin in the period through July 1, 2014. This measure was set out in a joint resolution by Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health and National Standard Committee dated June 21. The resolution also allows entrepreneurs to sell their stock without Customs Union certificates through July 1, 2014. The government of Belarus will also address the issue with the Eurasian Economic Commission so that the technical regulations are observed by all members of the Customs Union.

Let us also recall that on June 27, entrepreneurs in Belarus staged a one-day strike protesting against the requirements in the technical regulations of the Customs Union. Under the rules, entrepreneurs shall have quality certificates for shoes and clothes they sell. The leader of entrepreneurs, Anatol Shumchanka spent 5 days of arrest for staging an unauthorized mass action. On June 28 entrepreneurs filed an appeal for protest demonstration on July 15 in Minsk, whereas the strike conducted on June 27 has achieved its aims only partially.
