The post of the IMF Resident Representative in Belarus becomes vacant in April
16.02.2012
Natalia Koliadina, who has worked as a Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Belarus since April 2009, leaves her post.
As the three-year term of her stay in this post has expired, Koliadina will return to the IMF Headquarters in the beginning of April of this year. A new Resident Representative’s arrival in Minsk is not planned yet.
This results from the fact that the Fund will consider the question concerning the appointment of a new full-time Resident Representative in the country in case the IMF and Belarus will be close to the signing of a new program supported by the Fund. At the same time, the IMF will keep its office in Minsk open.
The Fund is planning to keep supporting the authorities of Belarus in their implementation of macroeconomic stabilization and structural reforms. The post-program monitoring that is carried out every six months, annual surveillance missions, and regular visits of the IMF representatives to Minsk will be continued as well.
Since the moment the Republic of Belarus joined the IMF in 1992, Natalia Koliadina has been the seventh Resident Representative of the Fund in Belarus.
