A delegation of
Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office led by
Vice President Jurgen Stock arrived in
Minsk
on January 13 on a two-day visit.
The delegation is
scheduled to meet with Belarusian Interior Minister Anatol Kulyashow to
discuss the “dynamics of cooperation and its results, as well as
prospects for further cooperation between the two countries’
law-enforcement agencies,” said the press office of the Belarusian
ministry.
Four convicts wanted over crimes committed in
Belarus were arrested in Germany in 2009, while Germany’s authorities
currently expect the extradition of four people arrested in Belarus,
the press office said.
The program of the delegation’s stay in
Minsk also features visits to Belarus’ National Central Bureau of
Interpol and the forensic investigation center of the interior ministry
where the delegation will discuss new areas in which bilateral
cooperation could be established.
On January 14, Dr. Stock
will visit the interior ministry’s Academy to discuss prospects for
cooperation in training and deliver a report on the operation of the
German police. //BelaPAN
