Sergei Martynov: Foreign Ministry will facilitate the work of international observers |

On 11 August, in the course of a working meeting with
the Head of the Headquarters of the CIS Observation Mission of the Parliamentary
Elections, Nauryz Aydarov, the Head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Sergei
Martynov assured that the MFA will do everything possible to promote the work
of international observers in compliance with the national legislation, reported
BelaPAN with reference to a report from the Mission Headquarters.
During the meeting Mr. Aydarov informed Mr. Martynov about
the composition and the work plan of the
Mission.
He noted that observers from the CIS countries will monitor the election
process in accordance with the norms of the Belarusian legislation and in compliance
with the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of the state.
For reference, the CIS Observation Mission and its
staff started their work related to the parliamentary elections in
Belarus on July
29. On 12 August members of the first group of long-term observers took up
their responsibilities in all areas and
Minsk.
