Belarus wants to invigorate cooperation with France, Valery Voronetsky says

Belarus wants to stimulate the cooperation with France in the trade, economic, scientific, cultural and educational areas, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valery Voronetsky said at a reception on the occasion of the national holiday of France, reported Belta.

Deputy Foreign Minister underlined that “we are interested in France’s more active position in Belarus”. According to Valery Voronetsky, Belarus hopes that the cooperation with the European Union and France in particular will be enhanced. Deputy Foreign Minister drew a special attention to the important role of the French Republic in the strengthening of European integration.

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus Mireille Musso, beginning from July 2007, France and Belarus have held two series of political consultations between the foreign ministries.

France, EU president starting from July 1, defined the EU priorities as follows: energy, climate and long-term development, illegal immigration prevention, joint European food and agriculture policy, European security and defense.
