oland is "expecting" the
Belarusian authorities to release all political prisoners, Polish Ambassador
Henryk Litwin said at an online questions-and-answers session hosted by BelaPAN's newspaper Belorusskiye Novosti
on Wednesday.
He said that Poland fully shared the European Union's common position on Belarus.
"We influence this common position and are
simultaneously engaged in dialogue with Belarus in all spheres that are
within the national scope, and the dialogue is now very active in areas
like economy, cross-border cooperation, environment and culture," he
said.
Mr. Litwin said that the Polish president's meeting with
Alyaksandr Lukashenka was out of the question in the near future.
"Contacts at the head of state level are impossible," he said. "The
issue depends on the development of dialogue between the European Union
and Belarus."
