Visa policy in the context of the EU and Belarus relations:the current situation and prospects

We cordially invite you to take part in the conference “Visa policy in the context of the EU and Belarus relations: the current situation and prospects”, which will take place on 22 June 2009 in the conference hall of Crowne Plaza Minsk at the address: 13, Kirov St. Within the framework of the initiative of the Eastern Partnership, it is planned to liberalize the visa regime between the partner countries and the countries of the European Union. However, during this transition to new forms of interaction, it is necessary to take into account the specificity of the country, the current condition of its visa regime, and to carry out an estimation of a degree of its readiness for transformations.

Berlin Summer School for active citizens from Belarus

The Heinrich Boell Foundation invites tenders under the name of „Green Summer-School for Belarus”. The Heinrich Boell Foundation is part of the Green political movement that has developed worldwide as a response to the traditional politics of socialism, liberalism, and conservatism. Our main tenets are ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self-determination and justice. We are a green think tank and an international policy network.

The Heinrich Boell Foundation invites twelve young active citizens from Belarus to stay in Berlin from 12 to 26 August 2009.

Conference "Participation of Belarusian Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Initiative"

At a conference «Participation of Belarusian Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Initiative» that took place on April 22 in Minsk, representatives of civil society organisations of Belarus held a joint discussion on the meaning, mechanisms and perspectives for Belarus’ participation in the EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative. The final Resolution of the conference reflects not only the common principles uniting the participants but also their the common position regarding the Civil Society Forum.

Seminar on Civil Society Development in Belarus will take place in Amsterdam on March 27, 2009.

European Week 2009 in Belgium: Invitation for Students

We are a group of students from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL) in Belgium. We form an organization named AUEL: Association Universitaire Européenne de Louvain. This organization has the objective to act in order to participate in the creation of a “European public space”, as it has been proposed by the European Council. It is also a good and nice way to bring together European citizens around this big project, which is our future, and especially the future of the students. Our main project is the organization of an European Week; a week where students from different European universities are invited to debate about the communities affairs, as well as to participate to various activities aimed at promoting the cultural diversity and creating a European identity.
